Glasgow van ’t Merelsnest is an exceptional and interestingly bred stallion. Sire Nabab de Rêve and grand sire Darco have both had successful careers in Grand Prix competitions to include World Cups and World Championships.
Glasgow van ’t Merelsnest has a superlative dam line. Mother Wendelina competed herself at international Grand Prix level with Marc van Dijk, and she is the full sister of the phenomenal Sapphire who won Olympic Gold twice with the American team and many Grand Prix wins at Calgary and Wellington. Wendelina also brought two approved stallions, Edjaz and Koblenz van’t Merelsnest. Grand dam Idjaz C foaled international jumpers Lapino, Qarco van ’t Merelsnest and Vincenzo van ’t Merelsnest.

Glasgow van ’t Merelsnest is a well-developed stallion with height and length. He jumps with scope and carefulness. As a 7-year old Glasgow van ’t Merelsnest was Champion of the NRPS Stallion Test.
In a very short period of time, Glasgow van ‘t Merelsnest developed into a fantastic Grand Prix show jumper. This year started off with wins in the 1.50m at Jumping Amsterdam and a 1.45m class at Drachten. Last year he won the GP of Arezzo and he was 3rd at the Dutch jumping Championship in Mierlo. As a member of the Dutch team they won the Nations Cup of La Baule, placed 2nd in Odense and 3rd in Falsterbo. In 2015 there were victories in the Six Bars of Mechelen, Melsomvik and Zuidbroek.
Offspring
Glasgow’s oldest offspring are very well developed and seem to be outstanding jumpers. They have a great canter and show all the needed scope. Gweedore vd Groote Kamps Z won the GMB class in Laag Soeren. His son Jewel Fortuna was approved for Mecklenburg. Sensation Tok was the Brazilian Champion of Colts 12 to 18 months of age. Hiralinde DN was designated Champion of the Open Foal Show of De Westhoek. Several foals and embryos of Glasgow van ‘t Merelsnest were sold for excellent prices at foal auctions.
